Simplicity is King!
Well its been
a little while since my last post... I have been really busy! WHAT! ya its
true... I know the post subject says " Simplicity is king! " .... but
hey, it has opened my eyes to the Joy of simplifying my life too ;)
I would like to start out with a little quote, saying,
thingsmabob.
I heard it from a pastor at a small church near my town.
" Everytime you say YES to something, You are saying NO
to something else "
Can you guess what I thought right after I heard that? eh,
not much. But man, after a few minutes it just stuck in my head. I don't know,
like some place in my head was created just to store that one thought... Weird
eh?... well anyways take a second and ponder on that thought then read on.
I feal like this message, yet simple is really for some
people out there who need a change pretty quick before so many Wrong Yes's and
No's turns in to UH OH'S. (lol sounds like a diaper commercial or something)
OK, getting into the meat of this now. I feel like some
people gradually clutter their lives with so much little, small negative things
that eventually it makes it so so diffilcult to remain postive!
They will start feeling bagged, bogged, wieghed down or
however you want to say it. ( point, It brings them down)
I think this happens so easy. Even when you trying to do so
much good things it can still drive you Insane! I mean you want to help out in
so many ways. You book your days and weeks jammed packed with no extra time,
get overwelmed, look back and say
" man, I thought everyone one of those were good ideas
"
I guess that kinda goes back to the, Say yes to one thing,
you say no to another!
You know what that does when you think about it. If you
figure out what saying Yes to something does to something else it can help you
make better decisions. It also leaves room for prayer and guidance from God.
Lets start simple to get the concept.
_ If you say Yes to sleeping in right until you have to get
up and leave for work.
_ Then you are saying NO to taking a shower first!
+ If you say Yes to hanging out with your friends on your
aniversary.
+ Then you are saying NO to your wife!
? Which is more important! Get the idea ;)
Its not always easy saying yes to the right things! But let
me quote a few sayings from someone I have used in alot of these posts.
(Dr. Mike Murdoc)
" Your focus Decides your feelings "
" When your heart decides the destination, your mind
will design the map to reach it "
" What you are willing to walk away from, determines
what God will bring to you "
^^^^^^^^^ I like that one ^^^^^^^^^^
I think we live in a world that is always preaching at us
MORE IS BETTER! DO MORE! sometimes More is NOT better. For the young people
reading this. What does 90% of you like to do to fill up time!
Well 95% of girls love to go to the mall and shop and 90%
guys like to go to the mall and watch the girls shop! ha
Every day we are being told that unless you buy this product
or eat at this restaurant, you're not really happy. Weve grown up in a culture
that says having more means being happier. Thats not true!
Luke 12:15 "A persons life does not consist of the
abundance of possessions." Thats not where youre really going to find
fulfillment and happiness.
I know I have been jumping around all types pf places. But
the Lord has really layed alot on my heart and its hard sometimes to get it all
out right in a clear way. I hope you can hear my heart here.
Here is a scripture I think totally supports this idea.
(thank you biblegateway.com)
Matthew 6:25-33
Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life
more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at
the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet
your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the
lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not
even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is
how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is
thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or
'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your
heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
What is a simple life. Here is some ideas in my oppinion
about simplicity but you may have your own.
The point of simplicity is to seek first the kingdom of God
and the righteousness of God, and then everything else will come in its proper
order. Everything we do should be puting God first. Nothing must come before
God. A life of simplicity is to not have so much needyness (if thats a word)
about material things.
A life of simplicity is to use what wealth you have for
God..)
Love ya'll. I do hope this has helped someone whenever you
read this. I do enjoy reading the e-mails and comments on these posts. Even
though I can't get back to all of them sometimes I do read them and they mean
alot.
